Finmeresco

I had just had a suit made up from 4ply Finmeresco, and it feels, on first outing today, as though this is something I really am going to enjoy wearing. Whilst feeling very substantial, it is also very cool.

Does anybody have a longer term view on how this cloth wears?

What is the weight of the fabric? Also, is there a chance of you posting some pictures? It would be interesting to compare it to Piuma.

I think the 4-ply is the 11/12 oz. I have several suits and trousers. Good cloth. If you do a search for Finmeresco you should pull up several pages of entries on Finmeresco.

I have a suit of it that's three years old. Gets a lot of use and has worn well. Wears a bit warm for me, so I've been stuff from Minnis, but I do love the hand and drape of the finmeresco.

It is an excellent Italian made cloth ("Excellent" being something we expect from David Graham at Smith Woollens.) The cloth makes up and wears very well. I have not taken a look at the book recently but it had some nice colors in plains. The hand is special and anyone interested should probably get a look and feel of the cloth from the book itself....most tailors will or should have it.

Thanks for the link. After a few outings, I have to say this is a very pleasing cloth. On and off planes on a regular basis, and it seems to stay pretty wrinkle free, whilst retaining a great crease in the trouser.

The 11/12 4-ply drapes well and looks good as a suit. The lighter 3-ply is a very fine summer worsted. At some point, they will doubtless show some shine from the cleaners, but they are extraordinarily practical.
