Gentlemen,

Please allow me to take this opportunity to honor Lord Nelson and the Royal Navy for their great victory at Trafalgar, which, together with the Duke of Wellington's victory at Waterloo, saved Europe from tyranny.

........never mind manoeuvres, just go straight at 'em.

A bumper of champagne all around for the old man!

DDM,

I know there is probably some irony in it someplace, but my contribution to the celebration was a 1996 Extra-Brut from Jacques Selosse.

Glory to Nelson! God Save the Queen!.....

(PS: Any other ideas for celebrating anything will be greatly appreciated in the LL, so please make your suggestions daily.)

Cheers!

The traditional Trafalgar toast is to the Immortal Memory of Horatio, Viscount Nelson, Duke of Bronte and Vice Admiral of the White and those who fell with him. It is the only toast which has no reply to it.

Too right, sir! But, you forget one important personality - Field Marshal Gebhardt Lebrecht von Bluecher, notorious wearer of open-laced boots and commander of the Prussian allies who fought at Ligny and flanked the French at Waterloo.

Your friendly Prussian nationalist (!),
