I just watched Nighttrain to Munich with Rex Harrison on Youtube. I couldn`t believe my eyes when I saw that all of the original film material showing the Nazis marching into Austria and Czechoslowakia showed my hometown in the Tyrol which had about 10.000 inhabitants at the time of filming (1940); even my office building can be seen .

One that has, sadly, been over-shadowed by David Lean's colour film - but how could you beat the cast of the earlier version (except that Virginia McKenna was too beautiful for her part).

I´m running behind with all these movies. Thank you for posting this Boyer/Dunne version. My wife and I enjoyed very much. Lovelier indeed than the one we knew.

I just watched this projected in Irvine Auditorium on Penn's campus, accompanied on the magnificent Curtis organ by Peter Krasinski. It's quite a film, and with the dazzling palette of that organ, quite the multimedia experience. The recorded organ track on the YouTube version is a pale shadow . . . .

Someone must have mentioned this film before... My girlfriend took me to the Royal Albert Hall on new year's eve for The Artist - I really enjoyed it! Of course venue, live music (LSO and the composer himself at the piano), glass of prosecco and dressed-up ladies might have biased my opinion
