Olive oil benefits
Michael,
What news on your most interesting project of producing artisanal olive oil in Sicily? I was fascinated by that post.
Best,
Luis

Why fry? Nothing like a dolop of good olive oil, a sprinkle of salt and a bite of bread for an apetizer...

I have harvested my olives by hand and produced a completely natural olive oil the past five years or so. The guys who come down usually take a few liters home with them. Its a lot of work but a lot of fun.
Cheers

Years back, I was involved in the importation of EVOO from Crete, Greece, to the US. To date, it was the easiest way I've devised to lose money, but the joy was unlimited.
Could someone please recommend a quality Sicilian olive oil? I am on a short vacation in Catania these days and hope to bring some good local products back home. A hint on red wine, in addition to the already mentioned Occhipinti, would also be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Thanks!
I expect this will be too late to be of any use to you, but in my experience olive oil that is both excellent in quality and honest in price can be found at almost any agriturismo.kamil wrote:Could someone please recommend a quality Sicilian olive oil?
