Hardy Riviera

My tailor just tried to order a length of the 7538 but unfortunately there is only 1 meter left and they are discontinuing the bunch. Does anyone know another source that may have a stock pile of Riviera or if there is a comparable lightweight jacketing?

HFW referred me to the Ascot and Chatsworth bunches. I do like the Chatsworth, but I have to say that I haven't yet found a bunch with so many good designs in that weight class. I have one sports coat in the 7510 and it's one of my absolute favourites. That said, the 7540 has a similar design and colours, and is still in stock.

If you can stomach the extra weight, P&H's Glorious Twelfth might be an option. Otherwise, you could think about Harrison Sunbeam.

It does drape better and feel warmer than you'd think. As a result, Glorious Twelfth isn't all that bad a substitute if you really need one.

I thought the Glorious Twelfth would wear much differently from the Riveria. I have a swatch of the 7540 and it too green for my taste but I am going to request 7542 which may be more like 7538. Thank you for the suggestion.

Have you worn the Glorious Twelfth in humid weather? I find when there is no breeze the lighter weight makes a big difference.

In humid weather, only a Fresco will work for me.

Lesser is also selling out the 8 ounce summer lambswool by Carlo Barbera which, IMO, is basically the same niche as Riviera but nicer cloth. Get what you can while you can.

Today I had a chance to look at the Bateman Ogden 8oz jacketing book. Anyone have experience with it? I only liked two patterns but curious on opinons of quality.

Tha Hardy Lambswool book has some very nice patterns; a little heavier at around 10 oz I think.

That is certainly what their website says but I checked the labels in the new book and they say 11.25 oz.
