Slender Shoe Lasts?

I recently bought a pair of Crockett and Jones Westbourne in the 348 last (8E). They fit me to the point that I doubt bespoke could improve much. It might be the design of this actual model, as the Drummond is also the 348 last, but a little more rounded. Although I admired the hand grade quality, I was advised that a slim elegant fit in a standard grade would look better than a more generic fit in a higher grade. This has proven to be correct. I really like these chiselled toes. I briefly looked at Edward Green Inverness, on their most square 888 last, but could not compare these shoes side by side. I note Alden's remark in another thread that there is very little difference in quality between C&J hand grade and Ed.Greens. Assuming that the narrow slender chiselled shape and fit are more important to me than simply going for the highest grade of leather, can anyone advise me which rtw. models I might look at, and more importantly, which lasts? I have always worn Church's shoes but would like to broaden my scope. I would consider C&J, Ed.Green, Cleverley etc.The higher quality the better, but the main priority being an elegant fit....thanks!

I usually wear the Edward Green 202 last in size 10c. I have found it to be both elegant and comfortable. Recently, I tried an 82 last in size 9.5d in the hopes of even more refined appearance and better fit. The appearance is perhaps marginally better,if that, but the fit is not as comfortable for me. While I am not unhappy with the overall result,the shoe seems somewhat tight across the ball of the foot. I may try an 82 last in 10d sometime in the future. Hope this helps you. I,myself would welcome any suggestions.

You won't get quite the chiselled look, but the Peter last for Vass is on the slim side.

The Cleverley base line of shoes is often made by C&J and some are on the 348 last. I have a Cleverley one the "Brown Calf Norwegian Shoe No.72" and find it a little on the pointy side for me and prefer their shoes based on the 337 last.

The Edward Green 808 last is slim and has an elegant square toe.

Does Edward Green have a variety of current lasts for their Rtw shoes? I was of the opinion that they mentioned three lasts in ascending order of slimness, the slimmest being 888. I suppose the different shoe models are of different designs and perhaps the next slimmest last, but on a smaller size, or narrower fitting might be an even better fit?... i.e. a less chiselled shape but on a narrower fitting? Also, is the C&J hand grade 337 last the equivalent of the standard grade 348 slim last, and does this also apply to the Cleverley equivalent?
It's all a bit confusing, but if I finally get my most suitable last dialled in...I will make great forward strides in all future pursuits of elegant footwear....thanks.

I was recently in contact with Robsinsons Shoes in Carrickfergus, which would be quite close to you. They say they can get E sizes in all the English makes they stock. Hope thats of help. Thankfully for me they also can get G, Damn my clodhoppers!

I think the 358 is the handgrade equivalent of the 348 the 337 is a little less pointy in my opinion. I would check with C&J to be sure.
