Please be careful with Parker Quink. As far as I can recall it has additives to clean the pen and can corrode non-Parker pens. I must admit the blue black is one of my favourite colours, though, and difficult to find in as warm a shade elsewhere.

I am always using Montblanc ink, which has an additive called SD 21. It prevents the ink of drying out. That means , you can use a pen after a year of abstinence and the ink comes out fluently at your first try. I really appreciate that as I don't have to test the pen every time before a signature.

Alas, my Visconti joins the ranks of walking (writing?) wounded. A fissure developed from dropping it. A colleague snapped it through. Fortunately it is black, and with a little care, it may be put back together.

I am hoping my dealer can approximate an invisible mending service for pens.

Or else, I very possibly might cry.

When in Rome, I like to stop by Campo Marzio Penne for their inks. They have pens too, most are inexpensive and would make a nice gift for a younger person back home, someone looking after your plants/pets etc. They have a number of other related items, such as leather bound journals. But the inks are my favorite: good quality and good range of colors. They are at 41 Via Campo Marzio, just off the piazza proper. Conveniently, at the other end of the piazza is a nice perfumery.

Campo Marzio Penne did have a location in Manhattan for a bit, on Lex in the upper sixities, I believe, but it is no longer extant.
