Grettings all:
Does anyone know of a book called "The Last Shall be First". From what I have heard it is a book published in the late 60's early 70's about bespoke shoe maker (or in England as they say it, boot maker) John Lobb. If anyone knows where I can buy a copy your insight would be greatly appreciated. Would love to have this book to be part of my haberdashery book collection.

John Lobb Book
Should be readily available on alibris. www.alibris.com
I have it and consider it only marginally interesting. More of a family history than a book on shoes.

I have it.
It is mostly a history of the family firm, but it has some tantalizing bits and pieces.
If you want a comprehensive book on shoes, I recommend Lazlo Vass's "Handmade Shoes."
