H.Lesser: No More
Yes, Harrisons might be very good hands, but still, very sad news.

Consolidation/acquisition by the best of breed seems to be in fashion. First Barbera (Kiton), now Lesser (Harrisons).
"The old world is crumbling"
Does anyone know if Harrisons will keep the brand "H.Lesser" going? Or merge it into other brands?

My guess is that they would keep it going. Its actually Lear Brown and Dunsford which bought Harrisons and Porter Harding years ago and they kept those brands.
I hope the quality and the "discerning man" label remains. I recently discovered Lesser through the LL's expert and experienced member comments and as a result have a 13 oz dark navy rope stripe and gray herringbone with my tailor. The richness of the color and dryness of the cloth, the navy especially, is better than anything I have experienced before. I look forward to more, like a birds eye, and maybe even something in the 16 oz range.
I will suggest to the LL members that you stock a few of your favorite H.Lesser cloths . You will not see its like ever again.

I understand that LBD will continue with the H Lesser brand and probably use the same mills for their production. The owners of LBD are pros and there should be continuity with the products.I will suggest to the LL members that you stock a few of your favorite H.Lesser cloths . But who can be sure....
Cheers

I knew something was going on , Michael , when they decided to let their 10oz book run out. I doubt things will be the same, but I hope I am wrong. To me this is sad news. Frank

I recently spoke to Isles Textiles. It has the exclusive distrubutorship of Harrison's, Smith's, and other British cloths. Isles will represent Lesser in the USA and Canada.
Lesser will continue as a separate line. This makes sense in that some tailors do not carry the other cloths. Also, Lesser has built-up good will and a loyal customer base over the years.
It is likely that the Lesser line will continue with cloths that can be differentiated from the Harrison's group's other offerings.

I received some good news today. Daniel Webster will still be servicing H.Lesser customers through Jodek Intl.
Harrisons of Edinburgh has some of the H Lesser collection shown on its website now. For worsteds it shows the 16 and 13 oz among others, for example, but not the 9.5/10 oz without cashmere. Someone should perhaps ask Harrisons whether it indicates new runs, from the same mill(s) and specifications, or existing stock.
See here for detail about the beginning of a new era...
