Is there anyone who has had any experience with these two young chaps?

Their fancy take on their metier (flashy linings and buttonholes for example) makes me instantly suspicious, as does their seemingly random use of the words "bespoke" and "made-to-measure". However, with shirts starting at €190 I was intrigued nonetheless. Does anyone know if their services truly are bespoke or plainly "made-to-order"?

They seem to carefully skirt the definition of "bespoke" ("Haute mesure", as far as I know, is meaningless, and they do not let themselves been pinned down into "Grande mesure" or "demi-mesure") as far as suits are concerned. They do mention a customer's own pattern for shirts...Bespoke denim?!!??

My initial reaction as well, however, it might be a way to obtain a pair of jeans that sit at the waist and not the hips.

Anyway, for the shirts, I've decided to go to monsieur Courtot in rue de Rennes instead. I know he makes his shirts artisanale

If we can broaden this thread out does anyone have any experience of bespoke denim?

Having recently received my first pair of trousers from Salvatore Ambrosi it's obvious that he'd be very good at making jeans - perhaps better than he is at making formal trousers given the cut he favours. I mean real jeans, not denim trousers.

Which leads to the next obvious question, which is what fabric to use? Ambrosi suggested something from Holland & Sherry but I worry that it's a bit too luxurious and that it would look peculiar. Is it possible to get small quantities of 'real' denim? I love the feel of Levi's Vintage jeans, I just wish they'd fit a bit better.

Huntsman had a spell of producing bespoke jeans but they gave it up. Presumably, though, tailors might be persuaded to alter Levi's? Mind you, I suppose with all the visible stitching etc., they could only perform relatively minor tweaking.

Manself, the last time I posted info on a supplier in reply to a query, the entire thread got deleted (and I do not know the reason), so you can PM me, assuming that I understand you correctly that you want bespoke jeans made of proper denim. I know a source in London.

Bought a pair of jeans many years ago that were called Paris Jeans, if I remember correctly. The denim was by far the best I have ever worn and washed. Wore them for years and years. They didn't show wear until the very end, and then they were worn out. If I could have denim like that again....
