Suggestions for Rome
The fit on the first one is irreproachable.
Uppercase, Costi has the right idea in suggesting a Jack Russell for you; however in my experience Jack Russells are a very variable breed, which is why the kennel clubs do not acknowledge them.
What you need is a smooth haired Fox terrier; ( Basically a Jack Russell with pedigree ) Healthy,self-possessed, interesting and masculine: the perfect dog. Until recently I had twelve, (At which point they began to prove a challenge to matrimonial bliss)...... I now have two.

They are not lethargic (like some breeds are), they have a good tonus but not aggitated like cocker spaniels and the small size helps keep things under control in an appartment even when they feel playful. They don't do much damage around the house (shoes, carpets), but you need to buy a good pair of tweezers to get the hairs out of your flannel trousers, one by one...
They are clever, loving, friendly. Excellent company and, while they adapt very well to appartment life, they don't feel like a greenhouse violet if you take them for a stroll in the woods or in a park. They are bold, courageous, alert, curious. Very nice character really.

No cologne involved. Flannel is a good guess, but I didn't wear flannel in those days. I wore something less inviting to the touch on most days: gabardine. So, I think it was a simple case of podoadoria albeit I don't understand why it had to be the left one... Of course, all this sounds rather worse than it was; the truth is that the old podophiliac's blood never flowed to his lower abdomen, so it was all very Platonic even though we were usually discussing Aristotle when the mood struck.Costi wrote:Did you try changing your cologne? Or maybe he had a thing for flannel...

The little beast was a Democrat mayhap?shredder wrote:I don't understand why it had to be the left one...
Ah, not a bad hypothesis! However, I would have thought that a Democrat would have mounted the right one? The fact that Bandit's pet was a Yalie might be a clue...
Such an academic dog knew something was wrong: discussing Aristotles sitting down? You should have tried the peripatetic approach - dogs seem to enjoy it, irrespective of the subjectshredder wrote:it was all very Platonic even though we were usually discussing Aristotle when the mood struck.
I opted to have one wife...thus I feel I can have as many tailors as I see fit
Its a shame its taken Uppercase so long to formulate an answer to my Caraceni question

..a cat.I need a small size dog, suitable for apartment living in a city.
I don't want a yappy, cutesy dog requiring alot of maintenance and care.
I do want a dog which is a healthy breed, is self possessed, interesting and masculine.
Any suggestions?
The perfect dog is a Labrador or golden retriever, not for apartments really, though many do well in them.

My friend, you only get a suit.ay329 wrote:Uppercase: I triple dog dare you to explain what one gets in ordering a Caraceni Roma suit.
But if you like the suit on Valentino above, well, that is similar to what Caraceni makes.
The rest is up to you.
Since this post has been bumped, I am pleased to reopen it to anyone else wishing to make suggestions.

Augusto Caraceni Milano,Domenico Caracen Rome and Ferdinando Caraceni are the inheritors of the late Mr.Domenico Caraceni. In the opinion of the LL members, that are the customers of the Caracenis, which are of the three remains a Caraceni artisan from the previous.
