I have recently had a pair of trousers made to go with my LL Sicilian PoW tweed jacket. The cloth was great as an odd jacket, but it looks even better as a suit! Worn with a blue oxford shirt, dark brown silk knitted tie and semi-brogues, it makes me feel much better dressed on a leisure pursuit about town, while retaining a casual air thanks to the fabrics and colours involved.

I am in the process of making a suit from a mid brown Bedford cord I found the other day. It weighs about 19 ozs and should make a wonderful casual suit. It actually looks better than normal cotton cord and will resist better as well.

Covert cloth in a 450-500 gms weight, and whipcord are two other candidates.

Hehe! My photographer is out of town...
BUT, to keep you curious (because I WILL post pictures of this suit), I can say the trousers hang just as in an AA drawing thanks to the quality of the cloth. Those trousers we admire in AA sketches are not idealized or "touched-up" by the artist's hand at all, they are just made of good quality, substantial, well-woven cloth; and they are bespoke, of course So I have to say the Clothclub not only revives traditions in high quality cloth weaving, as well as reinterpreting patterns and scales and combinations of colours that are unique, but also allows us to revive (or preserve) a look that is simply not possible with "modern" cloths. You just cannot cut trousers that hang like this
from super number flimsy fabrics... (and by the way, here is another great looking informal suit).

Thank you Michael and Costi for being once more and inspiration to me . I really liked this post. "Informal" fabrics have been an enjoinment for me to wear for many reasons . One of them and the most important of all is the fact that they make me feel really comfortable in my doings during weekends..they are perfect for a long walk and heavy enough to get on the motor bike for a short drive around the neighbourhood while looking and feeling elegant . Today is St Nicholas day in Greece the sailors protector , it's a glorious sunny day with a fresh breeze making it even more of an opportunity for the use of informal suiting..

your experience sounds quite familiar. While my clothes may nowadays be a bit higher of an at-once investment, I do actually care less about how to keep them away from strenuous activities, dirt and sports because the quality of cut and fabric itself and thus the resulting item is so extremely pleasing that I can be sure that no matter what I am doing in my clothes, they will surely hold up against all strain.

I couldn't agree more , a teacher of mine at Uni use to say that what is practical(in a sense that helps get on with ones life) is also spiritual
