Hi,
Like many others, I am interested in high quality english clear cut worsted cloth, 11 oz weight.or above.
I understand that the thing to do is forget super no's , and go for the quality of the cloth. I am given also to understand that the best product has a 2 ply warp and weft.( and will probably be in the range of 90's to 120 supers, anyway)..... Are all the books that a tailor might show me of this quality, or should I specifically look for 2 ply w/w.?...and if so, can someone please list the sample books that conform to this quality and weight, preferably in order of excellence?
As there are not so many high end cloth merchants.,...surely this will narrow the search, when choosing a fabric, and will make life a lot easier for those of us who want to simplify the process and avoid getting bogged down in weaving technology?
thanks, Rowly

For heavy weight worsteds, stick to Lesser, Smith, and Harrison, in that order. You might also look at Dugdale and Fisher.
