Very sad news: Douglas Hayward calls in administrator
In all my visits to London, I never saw the shop even open. Perhaps it could be turned into a Rubinacci outlet store.
"On hearing of the company’s collapse, Moore, who wore Hayward’s suits in seven Bond films, told The Sunday Times: “I’m terribly saddened to hear the news. Doug was among the five best tailors in London — though I’ve no idea who the other four were. For me, he was the one and only tailor."

Certainly not the kind whose endorsement of one implies a jihad against all others.gherrmann wrote:

That's just Sir Roger's sense of humour.gherrmann wrote:"On hearing of the company’s collapse, Moore, who wore Hayward’s suits in seven Bond films, told The Sunday Times: “I’m terribly saddened to hear the news. The store was closed when I passed by about four weeks ago. It is a sad loss but hopefully someone will buy the business and re-open the store. It would be a shame if the customer list was bought by another established name.

Original poster, methinks. (Or, something like that )
And, by the way, if anyone is interested in being the white knight, the administrator, Ian Robert of Kingston Smith & Partners, can be contacted on 020 7566 4020 or mpallott at kinstonsmith dot co dot uk.

Ah yes - I thought that it was Briggs - but it wasn't. These businesses often miss their founders and the customers drift off.
It appears that a consortium of rescuers appeared: http://www.drapersonline.com/news/mensw ... 56.article.
