- it seems that Sulka has been down - but not out:
If the red slayer think he slays,
Or if the slain think he is slain,
They know not well the subtle ways
I keep, and pass, and turn again.
[Ralph Waldo Emerson]
And I, for one, look forward to seeing their superlative ties again: especially, the black watered silk, shot with starbursts of colour.

Sulka seems to be returning - online
This is certainly good news! I hope it's the same quality (not another comglomerate owned "luxury" machine using the name) and I wonder if they will open retail outlets in major cities. Looks like a UK phone number?
Indeed, let's be optimistic - the site suggests that they understand the history and it's a central London number - so let's just hope that they bring it back properly.

Cool, but I somehow doubt they can make a tie anywhere near the greatness of the one I own from the 1950s.

This is a nice website about Sulka, but I hope it is not just a nameplate. I remember the first time back in 1999, I visited the Chicago store for the first time and the combination of wood and marble with a well dressed sales staff just seem to blend together like a fine wine.
I still have my Sulka tie from that day, a blue background with gold dolphins on it.

If I had a free wish for this it might be that Sulka designs a first new tie embracing, in one of their famously abstract designs, a repeated motif of a Phoenix arising; wings bent for upward flight - and looking towards the stars.
