Turnbull & Asser rtw suits
I was in the new T&A store in London the other day and saw they were retailing their rtw 2-piece suits for £1100. The label said they were made in England - anyone know where/who?
I know that Cheshire Bespoke do a lot of making for T&A, but am not sure if this extends to their RTW.

I believe that Wensum also makes for T&A so the RTW, like Richard James RTW, could made in Mauritius and finished in Norwich.
I ever heard that T&A off the peg suits are made by Chester Barrie.
But I am not sure if that is ever been or that it is anymore now.
I just heard it.

They were. When Chester Barrie and its successor companies kept going in and out of business, T&A also began sourcing from other places, including sartoria partenopea. Now that Cheshire Bespoke, the successor to Chester Barrie, is back in business I believe T&A is sourcing at least some clothing from them again.TimMureau wrote:I ever heard that T&A off the peg suits are made by Chester Barrie.

Never heard Wensum but that would not surprise me too much.
I'm personally an incredible fan of Chester Barrie so if T&A are stocking their suits I'll have to check them out. I've been buying off the peg CB for forty years and apart from a few minor differences like closure cuffs I have to say that I've got better looking and better fitting and more comfortable CB suits that are 25 years old than bespoke suits I've had made by big and small names. CB still have their store on the row or at least they did about a year ago when I las bought something from them, a s/b blazer, and it was as good as ever. Had to change the buttons which have their logo on them but otherwise excellent.
If so, don't tell Mr Lutwyche else he'll be straight on the phone to Trading StandardsBishop of Briggs wrote:I believe that Wensum also makes for T&A so the RTW, like Richard James RTW, could made in Mauritius and finished in Norwich.
