Does anyone recall the words of the famous 1970s Dormeuil cloth advertisement, which featured a smart chap in a fine suit, normally sitting in a chair with a girl draped over him? - or better still, have a copy of one of these advertisements?

"Ask the man who wears one?"* No, I don't; I only dimly remember the advertisements!

*The most famous advertising line of the Packard Motor Car Company, which in its heyday produced cars superior to the Rolls-Royce and equal to the Pierce-Arrow in quality, was, "Ask the man who owns one."

Ha! it was just as short a statement but that wasn't it. The frustrating thing is that I have found a couple on the internet but they don't increase in size enough to be able to read the script- so the search goes on!

One of the British men's fashion mags, maybe UK Esquire, did a feature homage to them a few months ago with David Walliams re-enacting them in Richard James suits with a model. They showed some of the original images too.
