All,
What is your opinion on grenadine ties? I went to Charvet the other day and I was told that they don't carry them anymore. I was a bit surprised.
Thanks,
JD

I have a grey grenadine tie from Polo Ralph Lauren that I brought back in the summer of 2001.
I enjoy the drape, knot, and dimple it makes. You'll need to be careful, (as with any tie) because it can get snagged.
Or in the case of my friend Bert, who told me a story about a time when he went to reach over to get something on the table and the tip of the grenadine tie touched the beer, and the whole tie ended up absorbing it.
I have not used Sam Hober, but I do believe they make grenadine ties.

Try Turnbull & Asser - http://store.turnbullandasser.co.uk/Ties/Grenadine.
Yes, the English tie-makers are a great source. But I do have a couple from Herr Hober and I must say they are magnificent. Just a caveat though, for all Grenadines: handle with care.
Many ties look great, but only a few taste good... It should be funny, if I had never seen myself in a similar situation...Cufflink79 wrote:...and the tip of the grenadine tie touched the beer, and the whole tie ended up absorbing it.
Possibly an AA club tie: the wick-a-beer tie!
Arthur Schlesinger, a former advisor to President Kennedy, is reported to have once declared: "It is virtually impossible to spill soup on a bow tie, in fact to succeed demands considerable agility!"
That might prove a good option at the next meeting of the AA chaps.
