What should we see in a properly fitting coat when the wearer's arms are raised and extended sideways? Is there a different standard for coats with soft and firm shoulder construction? From the perspective of the wearer, where should the armhole feel most snug (e.g. direcly underneath, toward the rear), and where a bit looser? When we read of "egg shaped" armholes, what is the orientation of the egg (e.g., wide side down, narrow side down, sideways with narrow end forward, etc.)?
