Gentlemen

I took advantage of the sales at the weekend and bought myself a new jacket for the summer, the sleeves of which I need to have shorted. Does anybody have a recommendation for a tailor, ideally in Kensington or Mayfair ?

Elton.

I have used Jeeves, a small chain of dry cleaners with a branch in Kensington (and possibly in Belgravia) and the alteration work they'd done for me has been exemplary. However, you will need to pin the sleeve yourself - there's no consultation, you just tell them what you want, and they do it well.

Jeeves' Mayfair branch is on South Audley Street.
