I wore my first Desmond Merrion suit yesterday, its flannel and that was the first day it was cold enough.

I like tailors who have a distinct look and the suit was very much representative of him and his work. He himself is a big fellow with huge shoulders. His son is a paratrooper and he was a soldier himself.

I am pretty fit myself and like a soft shoulder and front. He has one of the best shoulders I have ever had. Its just a bit longer and very soft so it give me a slopey ready for anything look(stiff shoulders always make men look like they have to take their jacket off before they do anything more then turn on their computer).

He makes a very high rise on the pants and puts something in the back to make it stiffer. I like the result because it is just as comfortable and yet holds its shape better and doesn't fold and look messy. His pants are full but hang well and are very comfortable.

He made a much longer two button lapel then I am used to. However, It came out great and makes the suit softer and displays one's fitness. If I am going to spend an hour a day in the gym, I want people to see it.

The suit is very well made and the level of handwork is high, I don't think a machine ever touched the suit.

I told him that I have so many suits that I couldn't order any more but this one is so good, I am going to get another as soon as he comes here next.

Thanks for the report Ed! Tell Des he should take some pictures of you in your suit and put them online - I'd love to see your suit.
