Why can't I find flannels with colored stripes?

A search for the following has been unfruitful and am requesting kind assistance in locating the following:

1. Dark blue flannel with a light blue chalk stripe

2. Dark grey flannel with a light grey chalk stripe

3. Brown flannel with a beige/taupe chalk stripe

I can find all the above with white chalk stripes, but I desire something a bit more colorful without going to Super numbers

Preferably in 10 to 13 oz. weights

Was wondering why are the above requests so difficult to find?

Is the method of manutacturing flannels prohibiting the use of colors?

Holland & Sherry Company also does have the kind of flannels You are looking for in the Autumn-Winter collection 2007.
The fabric item is HS517 Viceroy Woollen Flannel (11 oz.,340 gm.). H&S do not sell directly but You can see the fabrics on their website at the following address:

Angelo, thanks for mentioning Holland and Sherry, but their prices are astronomical and I felt my money would be better invested in other reputable brands with competitive prices

Besides, they are quite uncooperative when trying to get information by e-mail or over the phone (as someone mentioned earlier, they don't directly deal with consumers). And my tailor had only limited success considering he closed his accounts with them over 10 years ago.

These flannels are difficult to find because the market for them is limited. A wool merchant does not want to stock a cloth which will not "turnover" readily.

You have to do a bit of searching among the in-stock inventories of the regular mills.

One possibility includes tailors who order "exclusives" from the mills, i.e., a piece of cloth made to their special order and design. Such tailors include in NYC Alan Flusser and Domenico Spano. However, they do not sell cloth. You have to buy a suit.

Another possibility includes sources who sell odd lots and close-outs, such as Tip Top in Brooklyn.

I would go the route of Tip Top, yet they recently moved.

I was told they would keep their old phone number, so when I called a week later looking into to see if they sent me the samples I requested, their phone number was disconnected and they left no new number (what an act of sheer brilliance on their part)

As to H & S, Will, where you able to directly purchase from them?

I have tried to buy fabrics directly at the email address " Werner Topel at topel_w@hollandandsherry.co.uk " but they sent me back tho the H&S showroom in Milan where the prices , I suppose, are higher. Knowing now that other people,like Will ,have succeeded I wiil try again.
