The CBC (Canadian Broadcast Corporation) aired a radio documentary on the suit last spring and it is available for free download starting today (Sept. 17, 2007) for four weeks. I only heard the last half of it when it was first aired but enjoyed that. Some other members here may also be interested.

Pretty entertaining hour-long podcast.
Interesting attempt to discuss the role of suits - to dress well, to fit in with the background, as a symbol of masculine status, or to look like a waiter.
Thank you for the lead, ShinDeco.

Thank you for posting,
I have downloaded an alias, but not the full file.
Have you found a way to down load and save the file so I can listen later off line?

On a Windows machine, if you right-click on the "RIght-Click to Download" area, a list will appear.
You may select "Save Target As" to save the mp3 file for later listening

Thank you for posting this.
It was very interesting. The sociological apsects are quite thought provoking.
I spend the hour listening and preparing a muslin for a new winter over-coat.
