Splendid as ever. Thanks.

Further to your thoughts on the matching jacket and vest with odd trousers, a modern version is visible on Daniel Craig in his interview on the Casino Royale DVD. He wears a lightweight windowpane tweed vest and jacket with open shirt and jeans. I know many will frown at an open non-BD collar with a jacket, and at jeans with same, but if one suspends disbelief on those points the ensemble works well. It follows Tutee's points about contrast of colors and about pairing cloths that share a similar degree of formality or casualness in their finish. An example of sound principles being adaptable to contemporary resources and mores. And an example of why Tutee's thoughtful analysis adds tremendous value to the original AA / Esky material, excellent as that is on its own.

Dear Etutee:

Thank you very much for all your hard work on this, and all the other AA post as well. I never get tired of looking over them again and again for inspiration and information.

Also, where can I find the fabric for the herringbone golf trousers?

Best Regards,

Etutee,

Always wonderful!

I really liked the crash trousers here on the right:

Some dumb questions.

1. Would these have been a flannel as mentioned in other parts of the article?

2. I have never heard of crash trousers/crash pants before. Is there something specifically unique about them?

thanks!

Crash trousers would be made of very heavy cotton.

Tremendous post by Etutee.
