Alright... I have recently started working on a lengthy summer related post. The trouble is that with my current schedule this post may not see the light of day till end of August :( & by that time most of the summer will be gone.

I would like to present this sometime in July if possible. I don't need help with the illustration scans but with the WORD typing of some of the detailed articles. Please let me know if there are members out there who can assist me in this endeavor. I can sent (in mail) copy of the text to who ever can type that in a word format simple document and then e-mail me back the typed text.

I will handle all the scans and other work load. In this way it will be possible to get this "behemoth" out by end of July.

Please let me know (either here or via PM) if any members can help in typing up the text in Word document.

kind regards

If you have scans or copies of the articles, they can be processed by putting them through an OCR program. Then they just need to be proofread. OCR stands for optical character recognition, which simply means that the computer scans the image, looks for characters and converts it to text. The output has to be proofread and the better the quality of the copy being scanned the better the initial results. I can easily do this for you.

I don't have the original text scanned. However, I can mail them to you in paper form. The trouble is that this will be a blk and white copy of the original (which is 70 years old)... I don't exactly know how efficiently can computer recognize those texts once they are scanned. But if there is no other option then it is cetainly worth a try.

I can proofread them... I have been doing these for a while so if some burden is gone... that is not a problem.

Let me know and I can mail the copies (on 8x11 paper) to you for this process.

If that doesn't work out, I'm happy to help transcribe them the old fashioned way.

Many hands make light work.
I, too, can help in transcribing to Word if the OCR doesn't work out.

I, too, would be glad to help with the typing if the OCR is not viable.

I would be delighted to help, too. I may be a bit far, but I can make up for it with my quick typing and total dedication to the job :)

Thank you all for offering help. I will first try the digital scanning process with Dopey. Let me see if it works. If for some reason doesn't then I will split up and send y'all little bit of text.

Dear zegnamtl... I have a different task for you... should you choose to accept it... it will be little bit of work with photoshop. Joining two scans together neatly into one... like last summer when I asked you. If you are up for it, I will be happy to send you a few scans. Let me know either here or via pm.

I would be pleased to help out as well. Small return for all the insight I've gained from the earlier AA / Esky posts.

Likewise! I might be able to assist with the photoshopping side of things too, although while I have the programme my ability to use it is limited.
