A glorious lunch in Paris?

Tomorrow my wife and I fly to Paris to attend a friend's wedding. We've also decided to celebrate our own wedding anniversary a little early with a nice long lunch while we're there.

I've reviewed the "Romantic Dinners in Paris" thread, but I was wondering if anyone had a specific recommendation for a restaurant to have a romantic and delicious lunch.

I've been told that La Tour d'Argent has a wonderful lunch, as does Gagnaire, but either of those would require a reservation a long time before.... Try Laperouse and ask for a private room. Again, it may be hard without having reserved a long time before.

If the weather is beautiful, try the restaurant in the Bagatelle (Bois de Boulogne): sitting outdoors eating good good & drinking fine wines ...

Chez Omar is white table cloth and refined north african food (Cous cous etc). It does not have the punch of some of the more authentic places but a very nice place for lunch especially if one is not too fond of high spiciness.

The Dome restaurant in the Marais is great for lunch. Not as well known as some of the ones mentioned here and not in the same league but a interesting building. If you call ahead and tell them its your anniversary, they may seat you under the dome. Wandering the Marais after copious consumption of vin can be enjoyable.

Thanks to all of you for your recommendations. In the end, we managed to obtain a last-minute reservation at Le Grand Vefour -- the gods must have been smiling on us, as our Parisian friends told us in amazement that it is normally booked up a month or more in advance -- and we had a superb 4.5 hour lunch.

The room was beautiful, the service was warm, intelligent, and professional, and the food was a combination of faultless ingredients, perfect classical technique and contemporary creativity. A truly lovely experience.

Le Grand Vefour is as "elegant" a restaurant as can be found in Paris and that means anywhere in the world. It has been one of my favorites for over a decade now because of the sheer beauty of the place and the excellent service.

There is such a thing as "elegant" service and the team has captured it fully at Le Grand Vefour. Elegant service is friendly without being familiar, technically proficient without being mechanical, attentive and consultative without being overbearing; it ignites one's curiousity effortlessly without a hint of salesmanship.

The cellar is particularly well stocked and the sommelier, an expert, will lead the visitor towards some remarkable gastronomic experiences.

Monsieur Huzir was very lucky to have a table at the last minute, so make sure and reserve well in advance.
