Pleated corduroy and moleskin pants
I recently had a pair of flat front moleskin pants made up after seeing the style from RTW Cordings. I find flat fronts to be restrictive, and am considering pleats in my next moleskin pants. Is it odd to have pleats in moleskins and corduroys?
Absolutely not, I do and they work well . They are your trousers and fastiidous devotion to some of the unwritten 'rules' that some claim exist is plain wrong.

It depends on the weight of the fabrics.
If you are using the heavyweight cords and moleskins (>700 gms) that some of us like, you would be better off without pleats, the trousers will look better. If, on the other hand, you are using lighter weight cloth (400 gms), then pleats will look and function just fine.

Michael,
You read my mind. I am concerned about using pleats on 15oz moleskin as it is quite thick. I might wear it and see if stretches a bit. My tailor said such trouserings stretch a bit with use.

If you're not already doing so, perhaps having the trousers made with front darts will allow the tailor to give you enough fullness across the front not to feel restrictive. I think this is common on SR; my only SR flat-fronts came that way by default.
Pleats serve a very functional purpose. If pleats make you happy, then by all means get pants made with pleats. Being blessed with my father's butt and thighs, I appreciate all that pleats have done for me.

I have both Flat front and Pleated Cords and Moleskins and i feel they both look good, however it depends on the cut. Cordings tend to be a bit tight.. i don't have a big rump, but they are certainly figure hugging!!
