I need to talk to a restaurant (not a private club) in the United States that still requires neckties on male diners. It's for an article I'm writing.
Does anyone know of one?
Dress code question
Speaking for Northern California, one of my favorites and more formal restaurants in San Francisco requires "business casual" dress. Presumably, no tie. Bear in mind, that this is California, and that Southern California (San Diego, Los Angeles) likely will not be any more stringent. I would supspect that the more formal standard would be set in the major cities in the East (New York, Boston, Philadalphia).
The Ritz dining room and/or bar in Boston used to. But they're now the Taj. Might be worth a call to see if it got held over. There's the new Ritz over by the Combat Zone, but I think their market's a little different.
"Twenty-One' in NYC used to require ties until recently. Might still.

I think the five-diamond restaurant (called the "Alex" maybe?) at the Wynn Las Vegas requires a tie.

If in the end you published an article, Will, might you be so kind as to post a link to it here?
The story ran in Classic Style magazine and to the best of my knowledge is not online to be linked to.
Try the Oak Room in NYC.
