I think that well fitting gloves are one of the best parts of an outfit. Most of mine come directly or indirectly from Merola in Rome, Madova and Ugolini in Florence, and Jeffries in England.

I was poking around on Dunhill's Heritage portion of its website and came across this text. "[Dunhill offers] a collection of gloves hand-produced in one of the two remaining French ateliers capable of producing such superior quality."

I wonder what and where this place could be. Does anyone know? Perhaps it is in the Millau region?

Thanks. I did not know there was anything left in Gloversville, New York. I'll do some research.

Also, I was re-watching The Yellow Rolls Royce (1964) last night. Putting aside that the continuity expert was not very good and no one seemed to care about authenticity in costumes, the yellow chamois gloves get lots of play.

Rex Harrison has them on or is holding them in a number of his scenes. And even George C. Scott has the chamois gloves.

I picked up a pair this spring at Budd. I have not worn them, but they look great.

If you have been monitoring the discussion in the cloth club about the plaid cloth, I’d like to draw your attention to the gloves in Robert Goodman’s drawing. They are cape skin, and the fit is impeccable.

Even though it is August, the fall is coming. Have you thought about your gloves for the fall?

Yes I have. Some new ones to replaced lost ones, from Sermoneta in Rome.

Yes, they do! Also, their pocket squares are some of the best I've seen. The selection is both wide and deep. I picked up several a few weeks ago.
