The long awaited replacement for Lesser's sadly depleted 10 ounce book has hit New York. This one is billed as 9.5/10, but you will see many familiar patterns from the old 10 ounce book. You will also see a whole range of solids and standbys that the prior book lacked (having ran out of them before some of us were born, if tailors' bitter hyperbole is to be believed). The hand and spring of these clothes seemed extraordinary at first touch. I only had a few minutes to look the book over, but I eyed several things I wanted.

BTW, this was emphatically NOT the new(ish) 120s book. This is a brand new, no Super number, 9.5/10 ounce worsted book. Check it out.

What a delightful collection of fabrics the book presents. Thank you, Manton, for the "heads-up".

There are indeed some lovely solids, particularly the greys. However, a dark grey with ever so subtle blue stripe and a Cambridge grey with slightly paler grey stripe caught my eye. They will hopefully be ready for me in time early summer. Perfect for all but the hottest days.

There was also a solid Cambridge grey with a wonderfully mottled appearance but I was able to resist. For now ...

I had heard there was a new 9.5/10 oz Lessers book. I did not know whether that was in addition to or instead of the existing book. A tailor in London sent me some swatches, which seemed nice and sturdy for the weight. This tailor only sent me solid blue and darkish grey so I could not really get the sense of the range.
