The current issue of MEN'S VOGUE (March/April 2007,) includes a delightful article, concerning salon Lanvin. Most enjoyable read. Reportedly, Jacques Chirac has his suits made, there. Former French president Valerie Giscard d'Estaing, as well. The starting price, for a bespoke suit: $7,200 . . . seems like small change, when considering women's haute couture: at Saint Laurent, a daydress in couture, easily ran twelve thousand dollars. A suit for day: 25,000 or so. Sometimes, more. Even in women's ready to wear . . . at Rive Gauche, a suit for day often cost three or four thousand dollars, fifteen years ago. At any rate, here's a photo of Valerie Giscard d'Estaing. A most, elegant man.

It'll make all the H. huntsman customers happy that they got a "deal".

I hope so. Truly though, the price of an off the rack suit, in upper end ready to wear, is very high these days. Three thousand bucks, is not that unusual. Honestly, I don't think 7,200$ is that bad. My sister's Rive Gauche coats and suits retailed for 3,500$, many years ago. This, for ready to wear.
