I tip my hat to you, Manton. It's surprising you have so much energy to spend the earlier part of last week flying to and fro, rushing around in London, and even be able to brief us on your London activities! Wow, and thanks for considering our interest in Savile Row.
I read somewhere that the magazine is not published anymore. Did Mariano gave you old copies?manton wrote:Oh, Mariano Rubinacci also gave me some copies of the firm's magazine (in English and Italian). I haven't yet had time to go through them with any care, but they look great.

They sort of put a new issue out when they feel like if. IIRC, there are only two around right now..andreybokhanko wrote:I read somewhere that the magazine is not published anymore. I didn't ask him. He had a few copies of two issues in the shop, both undated. I got one of each.
Leave it to Mariano Rubinacci to plant the seed of doubt and leave one slightly disenchanted with what one is wearing.
And then to pine for a Rubinacci to make the world right again. Ah, the charm and seduction....
But it is true; one absolutely must try at least once in this lifetime the 3 iconic bespoke artisans of today: Rubinacci Naples, Caraceni Rome and Anderson & Sheppard, the holy triumvirate of bespoke, each with a unique silhouette, aesthetic and philosophy of dress, and illustrious provenance.
The R ties are not all narrow although I do recall that R mentioned a few years back that he made a bet on narrower ties which I don't think sold very well in Italy; could these now be on offer in London?
His 7 folds are indeed narrow and skimpy and don't tie a very shapely knot. On the other hand, I do have some RTW ties which are substantial enough and make a wonderful knot without much fuss at all. But their bespoke tie program is really money well spent if you want a bit wider and longer tie or any other unique specification; their choice of silks for bespoke is absolutely beautiful.
I don't believe that R has published any subsequent issues of his house magazine other than those 2 which he hands out, and go back to 2000 as I recall. But those 2 magazines are very interesting and certainly worth collecting for their articles and photos.
Manton, did you succumb to Rubinacci's charms and order an unlined, unpadded, cream Irish linen suit, the suit of our collective longing and Summer dreams....? Or were you in a sober City mood as England is wont to induce?

Sorry to hear you are having trouble finding a UK publisher, Manton. Be reassured there is at least one other copy in London; on my shelves.manton wrote: Since every British publisher has so far turned down the book ("No self-respecting Englishman can stand being told what to wear by an American") this may well be the only copy in London.
