I did that already--that's how i got a username thus far.

I thought there was a difference between a "guest" who has a username and can post and a true member.

And I thought one of the benefits of true membership was being able to see photojournals.

Am i wrong?

One thing that I really appreciate about LL is that there is basically no sniping and cheap shots; there is alot of good will, tolerance and respect.

Alden owns the site so it's his call as to 'membership'. It's not an exclusivity issue at all, rather one, to my sense of understanding, of selecting gents who make some nice contributions to the open membership Dress Forum for a while plus who demonstrate the values of camaraderie in their writings.

It took me some months to get full membership but still I think that most of the real core and many of the interesting articles can be found in the open Dress Forum; the 'membership'' sections are good too but really reflect alot of what is already discussed in the Dress Forum.

I also enjoy the other forums and visit those as well but there is sometimes alot of extraneous stuff going on there and anyway, my real interest is in bespoke matters and for that, the LL is the best out there.

Totally agree that one of the salutary aspects of this forum is its tone. Good manners are an essential complement to dressing with care as both indicate a respect for others and how one is perceived. A well turned out vulgarian is just a vulgarian.
