I ran into this fellow in Milan when staying at the Baglioni where he meets his Milanese clients a couple of times a month.

He cuts a slim, flattering silhouette, a bit extravagant and flash, with a clean, padded shoulder, similar to the Milanese style of bespoke.

I think he could make a very elegant suit and he personally was very well dressed.

Honestly, one is spoiled is Italy where there are up and coming tailors in every corner of the country, looking to make their reputation, and if tempted you could find a different tailor to suit you every day of the year.

Many tailors from the smaller cities travel to Milan and Rome, wealthy bespoke hubs, to meet their clients.

His prices are 1/2 of what the established tailors in Milan charge. As I recall, E1,500 or so.

I think that the future of bespoke in Italy is much more promising than SR.

Prices are kept in control, new, young tailors are entering the business and importantly, there is a strong culture of bespoke in Italy to sustain their businesses.

I remember very well, uppercase.

Well, after I couple of martinis I may have not understand correctly :D but I remember his shoulder being completely unpadded. He was also pointing proudly at tapering of his sleeves.

There is some belly on that DB lapel, very unusual South of the Alps.

We just bumped into Sig. Arcaio by accident after cocktails at the Hotel Baglioni.

He makes a good looking suit for E1,500, half of what the big names charge.

The nice thing is that he is in Milano at the Baglioni a couple of times per month, his showroom conveniently located next to the wonderful bar there.

Jona may be right - tapering sleeve and no padding and a nice bold lapel. But who can remember?!

Anyway, we had fun chatting with Sig. Arcaio.

Does anyone have any recent information about Sig. Arcaio.
I tried the link in the first post, but it doesn't seem to work for me.

Thanks in advance,
Andreas
