I need to get a pair of trousers made in a nice, mottled mid-grey, mid weight , to go with different odd coats. So they are going to get a fair amount of wear I anticipate.


Will woolen flannels trousers stand up to wearing 3-4 times a week?

I'm pretty easy on clothes but just wondered if I should budget getting more than one flannel trouser now if the flannels are going to wear down pretty quickly.

Even if the cloth were hard wearing, 4 times a week is a lot of use. I would get two pairs.

If you plan on wearing the same suit 4 times per week, every week, then you will require 4 trousers for the one jacket. this way you stand a chance of having the suit look decent after a month of constant wearing and the trousers will not look like a bag of rags. And, believe me, if you are talking about flannel, they will.

The nice thing about grey flannel is that it goes with every sports coat that I own.

It's a no brainer to put together the day's outfit.

Yes, I guess I could get a few pair of woolen flannels but wouldn't letting one pair of trousers rest for one day, be OK?

Or would the woven flannels wear better?

Woolen flannels need at least two, and preferably three, days of rest where worsted trousers need only one. Wear them without rest and they will be worn out in a couple of months.
