Tony, Congratulations to EG on the recent trunk show in Washington, DC. It sounds like it went extremely well indeed.

Can you explain the particulars of this "special order" program, which, though not fully bespoke, sounds like it is about as close as it gets?

I am not sure that there is a history as such. I look through a lot of old books with shoe styles in and one day i came across a style with a toe cap similar to the diamond tip only not so extreme, and decided to make a sample like it. The term diamond tip came from one of my customers, 6 months ago i did not have a name for it. I have not seen it anywhere else not even in the old books.

Thank you, I do not get fully involved with the with the special order program so i do not know how they have done in DC, The way it works is:- we take a measure, You choose any style and any leather, you can also choose sole weight and toe shape.
We then take the order back to the UK and match up a last from our stock and make the shoes up for you, this will take around 3 months.
