Can a suit be made from 3 yards of fabric?

Hello,

I have a fabric that I really like. Not been able to find more like it.



Can any of the tailoring gurus here make a 2 piece suit from 3 yards (( 60 inch fabric) ? I am about 5"10, 190 lbs (or so). Usually take a 42R or a 43S jacket and a pair of 36 waist trousers with a 41inch outseam

Stay away from side vents and it can be done, close call, but possible.

Yes,
You have the vent on the back and side panel. Both can be made smaller, but still takes more cloth to get a tight lay.
We are not talking lots of extra cloth, but, with a tight length of fabric, it can make a big difference.

The fact that it's a one way check, doesn't help but if you keep it simple, it could probably be done.

Now to find someone who has the skills to handle such a task. As this is not a very expensive (or prob durable) fabric, I cannot justify taking to one of the "masters".

If I get this made up, I shall post pictures.

Just a thought -

as the fabric has a lot of surface interest already, maybe it is better suited to an odd jacket and possibly accompanying vest.

I have been given the same advice about two pieces of fabric that I got made into suits.
The blue linen just does not work well as a suit. The trousers do not work alone, but the jacket by itself (I mean with other trousers) works welll.

So that advice would have been right for the linen material shown above.

On the other hand, this tweed suit works quite well as a suit.




If it is all possible, I will get a suit made. It is more difficult to find suits in interesting fabrics. Among RTW Etro appears to be the only one experimenting. Would anyone know how one could acquire some of the fabrics he uses?
