Does anyone have a good source for some sturdy cotton twills (think nice khakis)?
I saw some decent looking ones in a Holland & Sherry book but I think that's going to make for a bit too expensive pair of weekend pants.
I called Tip Top and they said that they won't be seeing anything like that until the summer.
Any leads you gents have would be much appreciated.

You can find good cotton twills at Richard James Weldon Ltd. aka Weldons in London. Weldons is SR's best known trimmer and they have a small selection of heavy twills at a convenient price.

If you phone London, ask for Jane, and have her send you the cloth.

A great selection of buttons as well.
The best. The only source I know for lighter than navy horn.richardcharles wrote:A great selection of buttons as well.
You could try Bill's Khakis MTM program. I have no idea how well they will fit, but I have seen their cloth, and it is good stuff for casual trousers, and certainly sturdy. Not expensive for what you get.

The best twill cotton for winter trousers is the 15oz. twill from Loro Piana and Scabal. They are very similar but the LP range has better colors.
