Excuse my ignorance, but what does LS stand for?

LS Mens Clothes is a clothing discounter in NYC on W. 45th St. which sells RTW close-outs, etc., from Hickey Freeman and H. Freeman and others. It also does MTM through a couple of sources including H. Freeman and Gilberto.

I have used Dario's services through LS. He's very good.

When have people been able to meet with him? We spoke tonight and I was given a choice between Saturday at two at Tip Top or coming to his house.

My wife and I met with him this past weekend at Tip Top (2pm on Saturday, in fact). I would bet that the time he's giving you for a meeting is when we are scheduled to pick up. It is more convenient for me to get out to Tip Top than Staten Island, and I like stopping in and seeing what they have in stock.

As mentioned previously, Dario does work for LS.

I have had him copy pants at LS, and he has been very good. I'm waiting on two trousers from LS made from cloth from our last foray to Tip Top, and I'll report soon.

I received the trousers, and they're excellent. Hand sewn waistband and hand picked pockets, fly, and lap seam.

Got my first pair yesterday and they appear to be really well executed. The cloth was a 11ish oz flannel twill that I got from Tip Top.

I'm so excited about the value that I'm heading out to Staten Island (which is only about 20 minutes away) to have two more pairs made up.

I will definitely continue to use Izzy though for some things since he is willing to order cloth and charge you wholesale. (When I picked up my first pair I also ordered another in a brown corduroy from Holland & Sherry).

Is a fitting required when ordering trousers? Or do they just measure you and then send you the completed product?

A fitting is not required. Even if you asked for one, I'm not sure Dario would be in a position to do one as that isn't how he normally operates.

If you're really obsessive about fit or rather hard to fit, it may be best to have him copy a pair of pants that fit you well.

I met him on Saturday so I can tell you that he's a great guy if you're looking for a fitting, give him a call. If, on the other hand, you're hoping to minimize travel and turn-around time, I'm certain that he would be happy to accept a mailed pair of pants and cloth.
