Absolulely the best sale I've seen in a shoe store-great styles on sale including the croc chasses at about 65% off, I bought a brown pair that I've wanted for years.

I overstocked at this sale last year. I bought a pair of Jodhpurs (shown), a pair of medallion captos in a slightly lighter and redder tan, a pair of mink suede side elastic loafers in a wholecut with medallion style and a pair of medallion captoes that they call a 7 eyelet oxford in red vocalau boxcalf. I wear the first two all the time and the latter two twice more than never. Counting the latter two as a writeoff, I paid an average of $500 apiece for the pairs I wear. I am very very impressed with Weston, but as I have written elsewhere, their virtues are much less readily apparent as compared to E.Greens. The Weston shoes are stiff and dry all over when new, with an odd smell to the leather. The upper leather becomes beautifully supple after a few wearings and the stiff sole becomes comfortable. Once shoes from both makers hit their stride, I prefer the Westons to the Greens. All that relates to construction. Styling and fit to your foot is a completely different matter and one on which you need to form your opinion.

Blessed are those who have a size stocked in these emporiums. I wear an Edward Green 5 E (sic). Of course no maker in the world stocks this size (including Green).
