Hello all,
According to my tailors measurements, I am perfectly medium in size. An OTR Borrelli shirt (38cm/15") looks so well that there is no need to alter it. Savile Row is quite out of reach at the moment, as for the price of one overcoat (€2400 or more), I could easily get 10 shirts or 12 pairs of shoes and the list goes on... Not that I am putting down on SR, but it is just that I can choose economically more sound at this point in time.
In that respect I am pondering making use of the offer that is on display here.
I would like to know which particular problems could arise when going made to order (apart from an incorrect fit ofcourse). I have requested their catalogue and also a patch of cloth. I do know that I should check for density of the weave but at 19/20 oz. that should be ok I suppose.
The cloths I like most are displayed here.
Any and all replies are welcome.
Tweed overcoat - made to order?
Would you order a MTM ovecoat from an unknown manufacturer without first knowing the fit? The danger with ordering MTM from a distance is that the manufacturer's standard fit might not be to your taste. Were I in your predicament, I'd choose an off-Row tailor.
My apologies for my ill contemplated writings. On a different note: I do think it is wonderful that even such writings result in interesting information.Anonymous wrote:This link http://www.bownsbespoke.com/overcoats.htm may be of some use to you.
