Is anybody else having or had problems with them delivering packages?

My current experience with the TNT office at the JFK airport in New York shows ineptitude and rank stupidity.

Does anyone have a preferred international courier of choice?

Thanks for your suggestions. I think neither UPS nor Federal Express have acceptable service when it comes to international delivery and supply chain management solutions. Both are too quick to throw up their hands and give the answer, “your package is currently with CBP.” That answer is not an acceptable from either of these companies, especially when they are charging customs handling fees. These fees are in addition to regular ad valorem excise duties and the shipping fees that the shipper is paying (and then charging back to you).

UPS has been used by Davies on all of its shipments to me. Davies chose UPS. Never a problem.

I should have added to my previous answer that I have only got experience with them within the European Community. A true luxery indeed.

I must highly reccomend DHL, I recieve frequent packages from Thailand, total transit time: about 2 days.

I am often left with little resolution to problems when I ship with UPS. They provide a great ground service in Texas, but if the distance crosses state lines FedEx recieves my vote.

FedEx also has problems leaving packages, and if I am not at my residence it is difficult to recieve my packages.

Like Ptolbert I use DHL for shipments from Thailand ( to Denver) with no problems at all.

From England I use UPS and I mostly have good service, although they do bounce boxes around quite a bit.

From England I use FEdEx with mostly good results

DHL seems to be trying a bit harder as they are not as well established in the US.


For small packages I like the post office's express mail service. The customs handeling fee is zero or $5.
