What happens to suits/jackets/trousers/ if the owner is, lets say ...grown out and nothing more to change?
And they have no one to bequeath ?
Would anyone give out a suit for a mens wear dedicated guy who dont have the financial possibilitys to afford one of those wonderful items?

For the most part, the clothes will be adjusted or the wearer will moderate his lifestyle to counteract this "growth". If these measures fail, most will hang on to their clothes to pass on to their offspring.

So nobody will give away "older" items...

Possibilities:

1. The owner gives or sells them to a friend. I have a friend who gave away his bespoke wardrobe from Sills of Cambridge because he grew tired of them and not because of fit issues.

2. The owner gives them to a thrift shop or other charity, such as the Salvation Army.

3. The owner sells them on eBay.

4. The owner sells them through a re-sale or consignment shop if they are in excellent condition.

5. The owner keeps them untill death with the vain hope that someday he'll fit into them. Some keep them as a souvenir of happier times past. ("That was the suit that I wore on the first date with your mother.")

It would be nice when on the LL is an own Forum for one of those possibilitys.
Before some members want to give it away or on sell it on ebay they could post there items in here.
I know im selfish but because of my limited earning it would be a great opportunity for me

If I were old enough of age and old enough a bespoke client to no longer fit into any of my bespoke garments that are still in good condition, I would gladly give some away to someone who appreciates and desires bespoke but doesn’t afford it (yet), if I thought they could easily be altered to fit him.
However, it may be rather difficult to fit into someone else’s bespoke clothes, because, if well cut, they will have such a particular line that they only look good on their intended wearer, and not on anyone else. You will sooner find a good RTW suit that fits you, because it was cut to fit (more or less loosely) several body types, being sort of an “average-sized-and-shaped suit”. But I do agree that a high-quality cloth, hand-tailored garment will always be superior to a factory-made one and, with a little luck (as our fellow member le.gentleman proved possible), a few minor changes can make someone else’s bespoke suit look quite good on you.
Perhaps your pursuit is not a selfish one, as you put it into a wider perspective that doesn’t make you the only potential beneficiary of the generous act(s) you’re pleading for. For your sake, I hope someone will feel privileged to bring the joy of owning the first hand-made (not real bespoke) suit to a young “aspirant” who cannot afford it yet.

thx for the nice reply.....makes me a little hope (very small amount but better then nothing)
So maybe a broader amount of LL members will read it.
