Marinella ties
Is Marinella known for printed or woven ties?
My Charvet woven ties look and feel great when new, but they tend to not last as woven ties run.
I wonder if Marinella ties will have the same issues. Appreciate some advice from owners of Marinella ties. Thanks in advance.

mostly printed
The Marinellas sold the US are right now are 100% printed. When Bergdorf first got the line, it was more like 80% printed, 20% woven. I got a few wovens, and think them outstanding. For some reason, BG just stopped buying wovens from them.
I understand that, with bespoke, you can (obviously) get anything you want, and the range of wovens available is quite wide.

I've not ordered from him but FIH has at least one woven Marinella on their site - it's the blue tie on the top row: http://www.fourinhand.com/catalog.asp?S ... =marinella.
Nice. I haven't seen anything like that at Bergdrof in something like five years.
I purchased the same tie in a burgundy color from Jonathan at four in hand. I can say that the shopping experience was flawless.
Just curious, but how do the Marinella grenadines compare to those from, say, Paul Stuart or Ben Silver?

Is Four in Hand selling real Marinella ties? OF COURSETimMureau wrote:http://www.marinellanapoli.it
You can buy Marinella ties with the telephone. That is a little cheaper than four in hand .
By addresses for buy Marinella ties on the Marinella site you don't see four in hand.
I ask myself of that a real selling address of Marinella is......
Can you buy Marinella over the telephone? Yes you can. BUT how can you tell if you like the pattern in real life? You do know that pictures and colours on the computer screen are different from reality. How do you get to feel the 'body' and handle of the silk? Molto difficile! Plus many of the salespeople will not understand all the english terminology for the various silk weaves, patterns, etc. They are more familiar with the Italian.... and unless you can speak Italian well, ordering by phone is fraught with possible pitfalls.
If you buy Marinella by phone, the cost including shipping to Europe is almost $130... and that is to Europe. How much more to the US? Do you know when Four In Hand purchased the Marinellas? It could have been when the dollar was much weaker than it is now? I really think you should first understand all the variables before posting a rather suggestive post.TimMureau wrote:http://www.marinellanapoli.it

Some people tell me that the price for a telephone order 10 euro's more than the normal store price is. But 130 euro's That's more than i was thinking
Read above: $130.TimMureau wrote:Some people tell me that the price for a telephone order 10 euro's more than the normal store price is. But 130 euro's That's more than i was thinking
And that is not even including what your bank will charge for a electronic transfer, or what your credit card will charge you for the converstion to dollars.
I have also dealt with Jonathan at Four-in-Hand and his customer service is best I've ever encountered, plus his ties and pocket squares are very tastefully selected.
Especially for FIH ties. It regrets me that my messages came found oneself concerning. I meant however that I thought that you your marinella buy simply just like other at the shops and she sells then. That had not been bad meant. My excuses for this that it came annoying concerning.
Sorry for the maybe bad English but i have used the babelfish of alta vista for a few sense's.

Dear Manton:
If I overheard correctly, Bergdorf just recently got a new batch of Marinella ties. They've been moved, unfortunately, from a plein-air display next to the elevator to a case just up from Kiton.
