Thomas Mahon has posted about an overcoat design he has been working on with assistance from our host. The post includes some photos and a bit of discussion about the design. Some of the features will look familiar if you have been following the discussions here on overcoats and Tutee’s excellent article on same. I hope Alden surfaces to tell us even more about the design process, but until he appears, enjoy these pics (from Mahon’s blog).

While I am very fond of the paddock coat pictures Tutee posted, I cant say that I am totally thrilled with Mr. Mahon's creation. The choice of cloth, the height of the buttons and the stitching at the waist, the shape of the lapels, the swell of the chest and a lack of flare at the bottom create a garment that looks quite different from the original drawing.
