Experience with eco-friendly CO2 dry cleaning?
Does anyone have any firsthand experience of the results of this process? There are now at least couple of cleaners in the Philadelphia area (Monarch) who use it. I don't know the chemistry, but I'd think it would be less likely to strip lanolin from the wool and thus help maintain the hand, drape, and longevity. Don't know if it would create any more disturbance of the "guts" of a jacket (wadding, felt, etc.) than solvent processes. Don't know if makes good pressing more or less likely. Possibly other factors count more than the type of fluid, anyway. I'm tempted to try them for the once-a-year cleaning before moth season, but thought I'd solicit testimonials here first. Thanks in advance for any insight.
