Having watched virtually every one of the "Mom & Pop" & artisanal shops disappear from New York's Madison Avenue these past 20 years, chased by big-bucks big-box retailers seeking flagship status, it is pleasing to see the old-line Row tenants making a stab at fighting back. Mr. Hart is neither all right nor all wrong. An old professor of mine lived by the adage, "Adapt, migrate, or die". It would seem that the Row firms must make this choice in rather short order. It is good to see that they have formed an association and will hopefully determine ways in which they can adapt. The other two alternatives are somewhat less than appetizing.
