Well, a trolley of sorts would be a God send for those preferring to leave the wheelies to the professional travelers.
But most often you can't find trolleys when you need them for love or money.
It's back to ballistic nylon for me, I'm afraid.
Luggage for my bespoke threads...

There are also these smaller carts for luggage:
gents,
thanks for all the thoughts. I passed on the trolley bag from Boyt(?) because I was afraid it might be too large for certain types of flights - overhead is fine on Airbus to UK, but maybe not on a smaller plane to Chicago.
In the end I went with the Hartman. Altho the guarantee isn't quite as good, the luggage is more distinct and easier to pick out. It is also smaller. The link is here:

Essentially, when you lay it sideways and open it, there is a tri-fold garment bag that can be pulled out in 1/2 the bag. Anything hung in that bag ends up encapsulated in that half of the case. The other half of the suitcase is seperate and that's where you put your shoes, kit, etc. While being pulled, the suits are on their right side, but that doesn't seem to affect them - I've taken it for a trial run with my tux down to my racquet club for a black tie event following a tournement, and everything looked just fine.
I also bought the matching tote bag that slides onto the handle. I figure between them I can handle any 2-4 day weekend trip I might want to take.
Cheers,
a.

I travel alot and normally have to buy two suit cases a year. Most, if not all the damage is done by the airlines, from crushed bages to holes in the suitcase. The best for hard wear and longevity seems to be the Victorinox range, my last case managed to survive 1 1/2 years. The current model; im keeping a record of miles travelled and miles wheeled (sounds a bit sad).
