Seeking an Opinion: Vest for Silk Suit

Thanks, etuttee, for one of the handsomest fashion plates I've seen in a long time. It's half persuaded me to try silk again (experience decades ago with a bottle-green slub had destroyed any enthusiasm for either the color or the fabric -- an object lesson in why a boy headed to university should not be allowed to choose cloth without guidance).

I was going to say Dormeuil......they use to carry nice linens...but that was eons ago!...and would not help you any today.

I think you may have found your answer in the other linen thread. I am surprised to see H&S offerings in 14oz linens.

Of course you would remember the great Dormeuil linen of the past. Would that it were still available. It was so beautiful. I would love to know who made it for them. I am going to ask Monsieur D. Dormeuil though I doubt if he will tell me.

Patch pockets is an excellent subject and I will post a thread for an in depth discussion of same.

The illustration shows a "three button roll through" which is consistent with an informal suit, we can see the buttonhole on the lapel. Is the breast pocket a welt pocket? Its hard to tell.

Dear Mr. Alden,
That suit in the picture has a patch breast pocket also. I know it is very hard to tell that from the small computer screen...but on the the 14"x10" illustration... from which this was scanned it is really easy to see.
