Hello all:
I have a question about where to find good fobs for a pocket watch, well two of them to be exact? The two watches are being worked on right now and when I looked though the catalog at the jewelers they had watch fobs for trousers, I am looking for the vest fobs. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Best Regards,

When you say fob, do you mean the small ornament (in my case a double-sided stone set pendant in silver) that hangs from the watch chain, or the chain itself, or indeed the t-bar? Depending upon the material of the watch case, I would suggest looking at the stock of antique jewellers for vintage examples of any of the above as I do not immediately know of good modern manufacturers.

Yours,

Anthony.

Dear Anthony:
I did indeed mean the chain and T bar.

Has anyone seen a source for the lapel fob, usually in leather, used to keep a pocket watch in a jacket's breat pocket when not wearing a vest?

Yes indeed, but only on Hugh Laurie when he played Bertie Wooster; second episode of the first season when he pushes Honoria Glossups little brother off the bridge rail, into the stream.

(OK, I have no idea what eipsode it was, but the watch-in-the-breast-pocket is a part of his country kit. As to what it's called and where to find one, I couldn't say. Will, If I run across such a thing, I'll know where to go)

At one time, H. Herzfeld in NYC carried such a beast, but I don't know if they still do.
